chinese new year

phonetically, it's something like, "gung hay fat choi!"

it's the year of the tiger and if superstition seeps into belief, then a person in "their year" is going to have bad luck. for example, i am a tiger and since today is the beginning of the year of the tiger, it is supposed to be the start of a bad year for me. i would think it'd be the opposite.. so i'm taking the cosmos into my own hands and saying that this year will be a good year, nay, a GREAT year for me and maybe for all the other tigers out there as well. as a friend said, i'll be taking names this year. i'm graduating this spring, starting a new chapter in my life and i have plans to travel and explore new lands, both real and metaphorical. this is a good time for reflection. time to get acquainted with myself a little more.

thanks to _______ for my red envelope:D nostalgia strikes again. in a good way.
